My fifth anniversary

17th August 2022 marks the fifth anniversary of me officially starting hostel Life. It happened on the 17th of August 2017 when one frightened boy came to Fergusson College Hostel Block number 1, room number 24 to live with another frightened boy ‘Susu’. To start our journey we were both figuring out what to do and what not to do while we are in the room. His Dhoop Pooja & Photo of his local Maharaj on the first day was a major bummer for me!!! I was literally doomed why they sent “Raju” from three idiots to my room. I wanted Rancho or I could have managed with Farhaan also. But as the days went by this Raju was not a bit lesser than Rancho!!

Third Block building

Just like room number 24, room number 244 block number 3 has equal or rather more significance in my two years of heavenly stay. When Sandy came into the picture, a JNV boy for 5 years, the thing that I always dreamed of getting into but which I couldn’t sadly. Living with him provided a more disciplined yet enjoyable side to our stay. In this second year, our adventures had also upgraded. Broke not many but some hostel rules but managed to stay away from embarrassing Chai pe Charcha with Rector Sir!!😅 Room number 139 folks know it better.

They say that God is the greatest matchmaker of all time. I beg to differ with that. I think that Sathe Sir from Rector office FC is the GREATEST MATCHMAKER of all time. He helped not just me but all of the fergusonions to make friendships for life. Friends on whom we have wasted all of the toothpaste, shampoos, face washes, etc., etc. on their birthdays. Fortunately, I am still to be a casualty of such assault.

Rector’s Office – The place where matches are made

FC Hostel was surely not the place with the best of the best amenities. But we enjoyed every bit of living there and still, all fergusonions love to reminisce about those glorious years. In the end, I want to say only one thing. It was not perfect but it felt like home IT WAS A HOME!!!!

  1. Those were golden days we lived and still counting. We not only shared 15×15 ft space but shared laugh, emotions, fights & lessons. Now these memories have became our integral part. Yet many more to come. I think no one can match the speed at which we used to fill Lala’s table for 8.
This began 5 years back for you but 10 years ago for me.
Now it will go on for years.
Room No 139 (#Chai pe Charcha) will always remain the biggest kept secret in history of FC hostel. It is still a mystery how #one can travel Parbhani to Pune in 2 hours.
    Cheers to Anniversary !
